Kranjska Gora is a compact alpine town in the Upper Sava valley, under the Julian Alps and close to the Austrian and Italian borders. Hotels line the centre. Lake Jasna, two small linked lakes, lies south of the town center, along the road toward Vršič Pass. Planica's ski jumps are farther west, in Rateče, which is a different settlement.
